Power Washing in Old Bridge, NJ

If the concrete around your Madison Park ranch has gone dark with age, the windows of your Laurence Harbor home wear a haze from the bay, or the siding on the shady side of the house has turned green, you are on the right page.
Text us a photo of each side of the house and the driveway.

Most of Old Bridge's houses are more than forty years old. We handle the outside of them: power washing for driveways, walks, patios, and brick; a soft wash for the siding, roof, and fence; and gutters, windows, decks, painting, and shutters as well.
Angelo trains his crew to do every job the way he would, and he checks in on jobs as they run. Call or text (732) 718-6268, and you will hear back within the hour.

Driveways and walks. Concrete and brick power washed; pavers cleaned, re-sanded, or fully restored.
Houses and roofs. A low-pressure soft wash, under 100 PSI, that is safe on siding and shingles.
Bay-side windows. Outside glass cleaned by squeegee and scrubber, inside glass on request.
Gutters. Cleared by hand, downspouts flushed, before-and-after photos.
Paint and shutters. Trim, doors, and new shutters for houses built decades ago.
Power Washing in Old Bridge
Which Old Bridge Surfaces Get Power Washed
The right method depends on the surface. On an Old Bridge property, this is how it breaks down.
Concrete driveways, walks, and steps
Power washedHard enough to take high pressure, which lifts decades of grime and growth.
Brick
Power washedSolid brick takes pressure well.
Pavers
Cleaned, or power washed and re-sandedFirm joints need a cleaning; washed-out joints are refilled with polymeric sand.
Vinyl siding and stucco
Soft washed under 100 PSIHigh pressure can force water behind siding.
Roofs
Soft washed, nobody on the shinglesPressure damages shingles.
Fences
Soft washedHigh pressure can scar vinyl and splinter wood.
Concrete from the 1950s and 1960s
Madison Park went up in the mid-1950s, and much of Old Bridge followed in the 1960s. If your driveway is the original, it has decades of tire tracks, dark patches, and green edges worked into its surface. A surface cleaner, used when the job calls for it, gives a long driveway an even finish, and we rinse down the plants and protect outdoor electrical before we start.
Salt on the bay side
Laurence Harbor holds the township's Raritan Bay frontage. Houses that close to the bay can collect a salty film on windows and siding, and a soft wash plus a proper window cleaning takes it off. Farther inland, the usual culprits are pollen, road grime, and shade.

Madison Park, Laurence Harbor, Brownville, and Cheesequake
Madison Park: the university streets
Madison Park was built in 1955 and 1956 by Herbert J. Kendall, west of Route 9, and its streets are named for universities, Princeton Road among them. Its 1950s ranches are now around seventy years old. On houses like these, a soft wash of the siding, new shutters, and fresh paint on the trim and front door can change the whole look from the street.

Laurence Harbor by the bay
Laurence Harbor sits on Raritan Bay in the township's northeast corner and began as a community of bungalow-sized lots. The Old Bridge Waterfront Park boardwalk runs for more than a mile along the shore. Houses here take wind off the water, so windows and siding may need cleaning more often than those farther inland.

Brownville
Brownville is named for a 1737 land grant to the Brown family, and County Road 516 runs through it.

Near Cheesequake State Park
Cheesequake State Park opened in 1940 and takes in salt and freshwater marsh, white cedar swamp, and hardwood forest. A house backing onto that kind of ground sees shade and damp most of the year, so mildew on siding and debris in the gutters come with the setting.

Old Bridge Homes By Decade
How Old Bridge Grew
Between 1950 and 1970, the population of what was then Madison Township grew from 7,366 to 48,715, passing 22,772 along the way in 1960. Census estimates put today's housing at about 26,800 homes, with a median year built of 1972 and about six in ten built before 1980. Just under seven in ten are single-unit homes.
The 1950s: Madison Park and the first boom
A quarter of Old Bridge's homes were built before 1960, many in the 1950s surge that tripled the population.
Typical needs: concrete gone gray, trim that has been painted over and over, and shutters past their best.

The 1960s and 1970s: the peak years
No decade added more Old Bridge housing than the 1960s, and with the 1970s it makes up about a third of today's homes.
On these houses: siding that has been through half a century of weather, decks that may need restoration, and gutters on older rooflines.
Clues that a 1960s or 1970s Old Bridge house needs attention:

1980 on: condos and newer streets
Just over a quarter of the homes date from the 1980s and 1990s, and one in seven from 2000 on, including Plaza Grande's condominiums.
On these houses: soft washing, window cleaning, and paver patios with washed-out joints.

Honest Advice for Old Bridge Homeowners
What to Know Before You Book
An older driveway will look better, not new
Power washing lifts the dirt and growth off an older driveway, and the difference can be dramatic. It will not remove cracks, patches, or worn-away surface. We will tell you what to expect before we start.

On a small ranch, the shutters do a lot of work
On a compact 1950s or 1960s ranch, the shutters and front door make up a big share of what people see from the street. If they have faded, new shutters and a repainted door can change the look as much as the wash.

Condo owners: the association comes first

Old Bridge FAQ
Old Bridge Questions

My driveway is part concrete and part pavers. Can you do both?
Yes. The concrete is power washed, and the pavers get whichever treatment their joints need: a cleaning, a re-sand, or a full restoration.
Will I see what came out of my gutters?
Yes. Gutter cleaning comes with before-and-after photos, so you can see the difference without climbing a ladder.
Is the deck on my 1960s house worth restoring?
If the footings are sound, restoration is an option. Worn boards can be replaced, and the deck cleaned, brightened, and restained. We do not fix foundations or footings.
Do you paint the exterior as well?
Yes: siding, trim, doors, columns, decks, and fences. The surface is soft washed first, then sanded and repaired, with primer where it is needed, before two topcoats.
Can our condo association get a bid?
Yes. We bid on HOA common-area work and provide certificates of insurance to property managers.
What should I do before you arrive?
Turn on the outside spigot, close the windows, and move the cars away from the garage.
