Howell is the largest township in Monmouth County by area, and it shares a border with Freehold Township. We are based in Freehold, and some Howell addresses even carry a Freehold ZIP code. From Adelphia in the north to the sandy, piney south, we power wash hard surfaces, soft wash houses and roofs, and handle the gutters, decks, pavers, windows, and paint.

Angelo trains his crew to do every job the way he would, and he checks in on jobs as they run. Call or text (732) 718-6268, and you will hear back within the hour.

Power Washing in Howell

Howell Power Washing: Pressure for Hard Surfaces, a Soft Wash for the House

Power washing is in our name, but it is only one of the two methods on a Howell job. High pressure goes on concrete, pavers, and brick. The siding, roof, and fence get a soft wash at under 100 PSI, where the cleaning solution does the lifting.

01

Patios and pavers in sandy ground

In Howell's sandy ground, paver joints can wash out and fill with weeds. A patio that still has its sand and its color just gets cleaned. Once weeds are growing in the gaps, a turbo nozzle clears them, the surface is power washed, and polymeric sand goes back in. If the pavers have faded too, the job becomes a full restoration with two coats of low-gloss, water-based sealer, and a yearly soft wash carries it to the next one, about three years later.

02

Driveways and walks

Concrete driveways and walks collect tire marks, road grime, and a green film wherever shade keeps them damp. Power washing takes it off. For a wide driveway, the surface cleaner comes out when the job needs it.

03

Pool areas

Pool surrounds get the same power washing as the drive, ideally before the season starts. Plants are rinsed down and outdoor electrical protected before any work begins.

Howell Homes By Decade

When Howell Was Built

Howell grew in two big jumps. The population nearly doubled in the 1960s, from 11,153 to 21,756, and rose by more than half again in the 1980s, from 25,065 to 38,987. Census estimates count about 19,600 homes today, 91 percent of them single-unit, and just over half built between 1960 and 1989.

01

Before 1980: the first suburban wave

More than a third of Howell's homes date from before 1980, including The Villages, built from 1967 to 1975, and the earliest streets in Ramtown.

What they tend to show: gray, stained concrete, doors and trim that have been painted many times, and shutters faded by the sun.

02

The 1980s and 1990s: Howell's biggest decades

More Howell homes were built in the 1980s than in any other decade. Add the 1990s and you have more than four in ten of today's homes. Surrey Downs and many of Ramtown's split-levels and colonials belong here.

On these homes: siding on the shaded walls turning green, wood decks due for restoration, and patios that have been added or redone along the way.

03

2000 and later

About one in five Howell homes was built from 2000 on, including Pine View Estates and Four Seasons at Monmouth Woods.

On these homes: pavers losing sand or color, and vinyl that needs regular washing to stay bright.

Howell Up Close

Pines, the Manasquan Reservoir, and Howell's 55+ Communities

Home in Howell, NJ, cleaned by Catanzaro's Power Washing

Pine and oak country

Much of Howell, especially the flatter, sandier south, has pine and oak woods nearby. Pine needles and oak leaves both end up in gutters, and shaded roofs pick up algae streaks and moss. Gutters are cleaned out by hand and every downspout flushed, and roofs are soft washed with nobody walking on the shingles.

Near the Manasquan Reservoir and Allaire

The 770-acre Manasquan Reservoir is a county park with a 5.1-mile perimeter trail, and parts of Allaire State Park are in Howell too. Backing onto woodland like that, siding and decks spend more of the day in shade, and mildew gets its start there.

The 55+ communities

Howell has several age-restricted communities, from The Villages and Surrey Downs in the north to newer ones like Four Seasons at Monmouth Woods. In The Villages or Surrey Downs, ask whether the siding is yours before you book a house wash.

Honest Advice for Howell Homeowners

Before You Book in Howell

01

Weeds in the pavers are a joint problem, not a surface problem

If weeds keep coming back between your pavers, washing alone will not fix it. The joints need clearing and refilling with polymeric sand.

Siding behind hedge — Catanzaro's Power Washing
02

Gutter guards, or regular cleaning

We install gutter guards, and in a yard full of pines and oaks they cut down what gets in. Regular cleaning, once or twice a year, keeps the rest moving, and the fall cleaning is the one that counts most.

Two-story rear — Catanzaro's Power Washing
03

A split-level's lower level needs as much care as the top

On a split-level or bi-level, the lower level sits close to the ground and the mulch beds, which keeps it damp and dirty. Make sure the lower siding is part of the soft wash, not an afterthought.

Worth knowing before you book

Siding, fences, stucco, and roofs are soft washed. Decks are cleaned at controlled pressure with a wood solution. High pressure is only used on concrete, pavers, and brick.

Howell FAQ

Common Questions in Howell

Home in Howell, NJ, cleaned by Catanzaro's Power Washing

My address says Freehold but I am in Howell. Do you cover me?

Yes. Howell addresses can read Howell (07731), Farmingdale (07727), or Freehold (07728), and we cover all of Howell.

I am in a 55+ community. Where do I start?

We can work on what belongs to you, and if your association wants a bid for common areas, a certificate of insurance comes with it.

Can you clean windows on a split-level?

Yes, on both levels. The outside glass is the job and the inside is an add-on, and screens are removed and cleaned separately.

How long does a paver restoration take?

Two to three days, because the pavers are cleaned, the joints are refilled, and the sealer goes on in two coats.

Can you clean up after pine pollen season?

Yes. The yellow film pine pollen leaves on siding, windows, and patios comes off with a soft wash and a window cleaning.

Do you restain decks?

Yes, pressure-treated, cedar, and other natural wood decks. A restain every five to six years keeps a deck in good shape. Composite decks are cleaned, not stained.
